At Central York Aquatics, our program is built on more than swimming. It is built on families, teamwork, leadership, and community support. Every parent, volunteer, coach, and supporter plays an important role in creating a positive experience for our athletes.
Swimming is unique because successful meets and programs cannot operate with coaches alone. Behind every practice, home meet, championship event, and team activity are parents and volunteers helping make it possible. From timing races and organizing concessions to serving as officials and supporting team events, every contribution directly impacts the experience our swimmers have each season.
When families become involved:
No role is too small. Whether volunteering occasionally at a home meet or taking on a leadership position within the organization, your support matters and helps strengthen the future of the team.

USA officiating requires more training but provides opportunities to officiate at higher-level competitions.
Technical officials are the people in white who are responsible for ensuring that the rules of swimming are upheld and that all swimmers have the opportunity to compete fairly in whatever events they swim. At any meet, there is a range of different officials including referee, starter, stroke and turn judges, and administrative official.
Officials are present at all competitions to implement the technical and administrative rules of swimming, thus ensuring that the competition is fair and equitable for everyone. A minimum number of officials are required at each session of a meet for the swimmers’ times to be official.
