PRACTICE GROUPS

Junior Group

Recommended for (beginner) ages 6-12 . New swimmers are required to sign up for a free trial evaluation.

  • Learning the Basics: Junior Group Swimming primarily focuses on teaching young swimmers the essential techniques and skills required for competitive swimming. Participants are introduced to four main strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. Coaches emphasize proper body positioning, breathing techniques, and efficient stroke mechanics.
  • Stroke Refinement: Junior swimmers work closely with experienced coaches to refine their stroke techniques. These coaches provide individualized feedback and guidance to help swimmers achieve greater efficiency and speed in the water.
  • Competition Experience: While junior group swimmers may not be competing at the highest levels, they are exposed to a variety of swim meets and competitions. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for swimmers to test their skills, track progress, and gain confidence in a competitive environment.

Senior Group

Recommended for (Advanced) ages 13-18 . New swimmers are required to sign up for a free trial evaluation.

  • High-Intensity Training: Training sessions in the senior group are rigorous and demanding, aimed at building exceptional endurance, strength, and speed. Swimmers engage in intense interval training, drills, and dryland exercises to reach their peak physical condition.
  • Specialized Training: Athletes in the senior group may begin to specialize in certain events or distances that align with their strengths and interests, such as sprinting, distance swimming, or individual medley. Coaches tailor training plans to suit individual goals.
  • Race Strategy/Goal Setting : Developing effective race strategies becomes essential at this level. Swimmers work on race plans that include tactics for pacing, turns, and finishes, enhancing their ability to compete at an elite level.
  • Strength and Conditioning: Swimmers engage in comprehensive strength and conditioning programs to improve overall athleticism. Dryland training focuses on core strength, flexibility, and injury prevention to maintain peak physical performance.
  • College and Beyond: For those aiming to swim at the collegiate or professional level, the senior group offers opportunities through USA swimming to achieve optimum potential.
